Less than three weeks before the 2015 Brit awards, Madonna had shown her buttocks at the Grammys by lifting the back of her skirt to reveal that she was wearing "buttless" panties. This was also described as a "wardrobe malfunction", but was clearly intentional. Some observers claimed that the Brits incident was also intentional, but this is unlikely – Madonna claimed to have suffered whiplash and needed medical supervision as she banged the back of her head. She also denied that the incident was a stunt to publicise the song she was singing at the time (Living for Love), whose lyrics included: " ... took me to heaven and let me fall down ... lifted me up, and watched me stumble." Living for Love reached No. 28 in the UK charts and No. 8 in the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.
Madonna Louise Ciccone was 56 in 2015.
